All pumps ship with the "-A" (std) pump seal unless you choose the "-P" (better) or "-SC" (best) seal.
Pump weight does not include packaging material or shipping container.
When shopping for a replacement spa pump, always ask for the original Maverick.
- The Maverick is designed to optimize spa pump performance while using the least electrical energy.
- The Maverick pump passed all Public Safety tests per UL Standard 1081.
- The Maverick pump is powered by A.O.Smith/Magnetek/Emerson/Marathon Electric/Franklin Electric motors and not by inferior quality motors. Even though motor manufacturers may have different physical motor configurations (for example, capacitors and terminals in different locations), all motors are made per our pump performance specifications. Acura Spa pumps are produced and shipped per our model numbers with any of these motor brands.
- The Maverick series has powered hundreds of thousands of spas of different brands throughout the world since its introduction in 1988.
The Maverick pump series was first introduced to the portable spa market in 1988 as the first full-rated 2.0hp, 230V, 2-speed pump with a 48-frame motor. The Maverick was also the first pump with an eight-vein impeller design resulting in a dramatic decrease in operational noise while still maintaining high water flow. Horsepower: spl means "special peak horsepower", cd means "continuous duty horsepower".
Maverick pump models in the field identified by the prefix AF are the same as models with the prefix AE. All current and future Maverick models are identified by the prefix AE.
Model numbers with suffix (-1) indicates the motor is single speed.
All model numbers shown on this table indicate discharge straight up [Fig. C].
Model numbers with suffix (-3) indicates the discharge is to the right [Fig. B].
Model numbers with suffix (-4) indicates the discharge is to the left [Fig. D].

All pumps are not provided with unions, unions sold separately. Unions are identified by plumbing dimensions (like 1.5" or 2.0"), but these numbers ARE NOT the physical outer pipe dimensions. These numbers indicate the waterflow volume going into and out of the pump. Please use part numbers as identified for your application.
All electrical work must be performed by a licensed electrician.
All plumbing work must meet I.A.P.M.O., UL 1563, and all local codes and regulations and must be performed by a licensed plumbing contractor.

Just as tire alignment is critical for tire wear on your car, proper motor shaft alignment to the pump is critical for the longevity of the pump. At Acura Spa System, we use factory made jigs to ensure proper alignment when we assemble the pumps.
